DMCap is saying "No device"
Last Updated 4 years ago

This error can only come from 2 places. Either your capture card is not installed properly or it is not connected to the system. The DMCap looks for the drivers for the capture cards as part of it's start up processing. The card must be connected to the system before the application is launched.

If you have the card connected, and the DMCap is still telling you that the device is not present, then the next step is to look at the drivers. To do this we need to get into the device manager. You can do this by following these steps:

Windows 7/Vista: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/show-hi...

Windows 8: http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-1656445/view-hidden-files-windows.html

Once the device manager is open, we can check to see that the driver is installed properly. If it is you will see one of the following entries in the device manager:

GC500 - USB Capture device(s)

GC1000 - Fujitsu H5x Video Capture

If you do not see the entry for your model, then that indicates that the driver did not install properly. You can look in the device manager for a category called "Other Devices". If there is a "Transcoder" or a "USB Capture Device" listed in this category, then the device did not install properly.

To fix this issue you simply need to load the included disk into you disk drive. If you do not have the disk, you can download the necessary files from here: http://www.dmmdownload.com/downloads/CURRENT/PVR/GC_Driver.zip

NOTE: The files must be decompressed from the zip folder for this to work.

What you will need to do is force the drivers to update. To make this happen, Right click on the listing, and select the option for "Update Driver Software".

In the new window that comes up, select the option for "Browse my computer for driver software"

On the next page select the browse option, and navigate to the disk, or the files that you downloaded previously. Select the folder that matches the model of your device.
